Circle of friends

saying goodbye to the circle of friends

Yesterday marked my final day at work. Everything is final now! My co-workers presented me with a watch on Thursday. It’s beautiful! The crystal circle covers an opalescent background which Roman numerals signify the hour. Complete with the date. (I appreciate that feature; without it, I would lose track of the days!). A great circle of friends

They did not know that the opal is my birthstone (October). The fact that it looks like it has the opal for a background is one of those God sent moments. I truly believe his guidance over them was at play here.

my circle of friends expanded

THE greatest thing about the past couple of days is that I was able to see the heart of my co-workers revealed. By way of that, I expanded my circle of friends to include all of them. My inner circle of those on my crew was always in tact. We just kept to our respected role within the job.

The team I manage is a fantastic, diverse group. Each member has their own quirks and unique traits, and I am truly honored to have transitioned from being their boss to their friend. The rest of our department works a different shift, which makes building connections more challenging. s, they are an exceptional group of people who, along with the unique team I oversee, showed me humbling kindness yesterday.

the leader of the pack

The leader of the pack truly has the heart of a lion. I am proud to have worked with him in the capacity of boss and subordinate. He has truly led by example for those who notice and brings heart to every decision he makes. We have complimented each other over the years, that will leave a void in my life for some time.

One worthy of remembering is his assistant. She offsets the balance of all of us. Somehow, she stays neutral to the diversity and lends major support to our department. She literally receives complaints from co-workers, staff, some public, letting it roll off her like water off a ducks back. She has been such an inspiration to me. One that I am going to miss dearly.

Closing the chapter

The book chronicling the initial chapter of my life is complete. The moment has arrived to embark on the sequel. The forthcoming phase will reveal new adventures, settings, and characters, while furthering the narratives of those already woven into the tapestry of my life’s journey. I find myself eager and willing to discover what the new book will be.

It’s my hope to have left all those who have crossed my path with a real sense of the compassionate person I strive to be, for each and every one of them had a hand in my progress. I am honored and grateful as I move forward to a new beginning.
