Silence and distance
I’ve been training a young lady who is very in tune with herself and other people. Life has dealt her hard knocks, and she has turned them around to benefit her in some way. She has captivated my heart with her “old soul” disposition. Her rationale on silence astounds me on many fronts. One being that I am is incapable of keeping my mouth shut! Another thing is that it’s simple yet so complex! Even notable!
I have a philosophy on silence but it is a defense mechanism; whereby not responding to someone having a melt down forces them to combat their issue internally, not making a case from arguing. My co-worker takes it a step further in using silence as a general tool; to draw people in, to put them in their place, to keep them at-arms-length; to make their hearts grow fonder. It’s a notable make-up of her persona. It serves her well and could serve anyone well that has patience enough to let it do its thing. One only needs to take notice.
her light shines
There’s not to many people who pierce my heart. But the ones that do are mobile, shining and setting a path for others to follow. Mobile in that they are growing in their daily lives. Not stagnate, dead in the water; but seeking, finding, evolving. Shining brightly for all those who have sight to see, illuminating alternative choices for coping. Bearing their life scars for all to see and setting an example of survival. Ultimately removing the drama from their lives that the younger generations crave and require in every day living.
It makes me proud to have crossed their paths in whatever capacity. It’s exciting to be a part of it and I take something with me from each one.
silence is golden
From this particular relationship I have taken notice of her silent disposition. How it has tamed the shrew. How she has intrigued those to want to know more about her. She has even used it to inspire someone like me to be a better person. I’m thankful to God for allowing me this relationship and showing me another useful tool for doing his work. Silence really is golden and notable!
